Abu Dhabi, UAE, 31st October, 2010: Professional Sports Group has confirmed 2010 FIFA World Cup Chief Executive Officer, Danny Jordaan, and SVP Global Sports Marketing, adidas, Jocelyn Robiot, as keynote speakers for the 2010 Arabian Sponsorship Forum, Abu Dhabi.
In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and their Sports Care Program, Professional Sports Group will run the 2010 Arabian Sponsorship Forum at The Yas Hotel on December 8th and 9th prior to the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup.
Jordaan and Robiot will join three other global sponsorship experts as key-note speakers. South African Danny Jordaan, a former lecturer, politician and anti-apartheid activist, was the head of the recent and hugely successful 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee and is considered to be one of the most powerful figures in world football.
Jocelyn Robiot has been in the sports marketing and sponsorship industry for more than 15 years where he has held various senior management positions. In his current role as SVP of Global Sports Marketing for adidas, Robiot oversees all of adidas International’s sponsorship properties.
The other key-note speakers announced to date include:
- Kevin Roberts, Global CEO of Saatchi and Saatchi, based out of New York, USA
- Anders Sundt Jensen, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Cars, Germany
- Peter Baumgartner, Chief Commercial Officer, Etihad Airways, Abu Dhabi, UAE.
The event will once again be hosted by four-time Olympic Gold Medal winning rower and BBC presenter, Sir Matthew Pinsent, who will act as MC for both days. Sir Matthew will also interview key-note speakers during which time the audience will be able to ask questions directly to the speakers.

The Arabian Sponsorship Forum brings together specialists from the sports, entertainment and events industry in the region, including sponsors, rights holders and agencies, to help increase the profile of sponsorship as a business tool and deliver valuable learning and networking opportunities that can help the sponsorship industry to develop best practice.
In addition to a total of six key-note speakers, the organizers have announced a series of sponsorship workshops involving industry experts from a variety of international and regional companies including Phil Anderton, CEO of Al Jazira, Cambell Jamieson, General Manager, Commercial, ICC; Carlo Nohra, CEO, UFL and Barbara Biggi, Marketing Director, F.C. Inter Milan.
The two-day conference also hopes to stimulate both Emirati and expatriate undergraduate and graduate interest in the sponsorship industry. There will be a specific workshop on Tuesday 7th December, prior to the Forum, providing a 360 degree ‘Introduction to Sponsorship’, which is hosted by perhaps the world’s leading sponsorship and sports marketing academic, Professor T.Bettina Cornwall, the Edwin E. & June Woldt Cone Professor of Marketing, Lundquist College of Business, University of Oregon. This session will be supported by international experts from Europe, the US and local sponsorship experts and will target university students, recent graduates and interns.
